No technology project without a practical result

The local AI workspace is configured for one verifiable process. The paid practical test determines whether its quality, speed and usability meet the agreed acceptance criteria for your business.

Find documents with sources

Ask about content in the agreed document collections. Answers point to the underlying file and location so your team can check the result.

Drafts instead of blind sending

The AI prepares summaries, emails or next steps. Binding statements and external actions remain with the responsible person.

Ownership and exit clarified

You own the production hardware and customer data. Agreed configurations, exports and operating documentation are handed over for transparent continued operation.

The AI works where your documents are stored

Under the agreed local operation, document processing and AI inference run on the customer system. External interfaces, remote maintenance, backups, telemetry and updates are not hidden: each is identified in a data-flow overview.

This makes “local” a verifiable technical configuration—not a blanket data protection promise.

  1. 1. Approved documents
Only agreed collections and roles are included.
  2. 2. Local processing
The selected model runs on the configured hardware.
  3. 3. Result with source location
The answer or draft remains verifiable by employees.
  4. 4. Human approval
Binding and critical steps are not carried out autonomously.

One technical core, clearly defined workflows

We do not start with a generic chat window. We start with documents, roles and an outcome your team can genuinely verify in daily work.

Tax firms and confidential environments

Before using real client data, firms review which documents, access rights and participants are required. The practical test begins only after data protection, confidentiality and support rules have been agreed.

  • Search assessments and written submissions with source locations
  • Summaries of incoming client communications
  • Deadline alerts solely for professional review
  • No autonomous tax advice or posting

DATEV integrations and local archiving are not automatically included.

Four clear steps before production

1. Free fit check

We assess one workflow, suitable sample documents and measurable acceptance criteria without charge.

2. Free demonstration

We demonstrate the approach using anonymised or approved sample documents. Real data only follows within the agreed safeguards.

3. Paid six-week practical test

For €4,900 excluding VAT, up to five named users test quality, sources, speed, access rights and the approval process against the agreed acceptance criteria.

4. Production decision

Only after a successful test do you receive an acceptance report and decide whether to commission production setup.

Local operation supports control—but does not replace governance

Compliance and data protection depend on the specific use, access rights, data flows and operation. HK-Build provides the technical and documentary elements of the agreed system, but no legal or tax advice.

Included in the agreed project

  • Data-flow and interface overview
  • Roles, access rights and remote-maintenance concept
  • Technical and organisational measures for the system
  • Input for the data processing agreement and the customer’s own record of processing activities
  • Training, acceptance testing and a documented exit

Deliberately not promised

  • No blanket “GDPR certification”
  • No “data are guaranteed never to leave the premises” without a complete review
  • No legal classification without a specific use case
  • No autonomous professional decision or unchecked posting
  • No DATEV or archiving function without a separate quote

Official guidance: Section 62a StBerG, the BfDI model for commissioned processing and the European Commission on the AI Act. Contract documents for tax firms should be reviewed by a qualified professional before production use.

Practical test, production setup and operations are separate

Hardware and third-party licences are listed separately. This shows what you own and which ongoing service HK-Build actually provides.

Production setup

from €12,900 excluding VAT

  • Only after a successful test and your decision
  • Production configuration and access rights
  • Documented data flows and handover
  • Practical-test fee credited in full
  • Hardware belongs to the customer after purchase
  • Hardware, licences and add-on modules separate

Managed operations

from €1,490 excluding VAT / month

  • Monitoring and agreed updates
  • Up to four support hours per month
  • Service times set out in the operating agreement
  • Response and recovery route documented in writing
  • Twelve-month minimum term

Exclusively for businesses as defined by Section 14 of the German Civil Code (BGB). All prices exclude statutory VAT. Third-party licences, hardware, DATEV integrations, archiving, additional workflows and special resilience are only included when specified in writing.

Measured before launch

  • Up to five named users during the practical test
  • Concurrent use and response times after load testing
  • Model, document types and sizes in the technical appendix
  • A local model is not automatically at frontier-model level
  • Professional results require human review

No artificial lock-in

  • Customer-owned hardware and primary data remain with the customer
  • Agreed configurations and workflow exports are handed over
  • HK-Build access is removed during the exit
  • Without support, monitoring, assistance and future updates cease
  • External licences retain their respective terms

Local AI, clearly explained

What does local AI mean?

In this offer, local AI means that the agreed document processing and AI inference run on hardware at your premises. External connections, remote maintenance, backups and updates are identified separately and agreed in writing.

Do all data always stay within the business?

Under the agreed local operation, document content and AI inference remain on the customer system. An absolute statement is only possible once remote maintenance, telemetry, external interfaces and backup destinations have also been reviewed and configured accordingly.

How much does a dedicated AI workspace cost?

The Local AI fit check and demonstration using anonymised or approved sample documents are free. The six-week practical test costs €4,900 excluding VAT and uses agreed acceptance criteria. Production setup starts at €12,900 excluding VAT and is commissioned only after a successful test and your decision; the practical-test fee is then credited in full. Hardware, licences and special integrations are quoted separately.

Is a local model as capable as major cloud AI?

Not in every case. The model, hardware, concurrent users and document volume are therefore tested with typical cases. Before production, the practical test shows whether quality and speed meet the agreed acceptance criteria for the selected workflow.

What happens after cancellation?

Customer-owned hardware and data remain with the customer. Agreed configurations, workflow exports and operating documentation are handed over. Without a support agreement, monitoring, support and future updates cease; external licences remain subject to their respective terms.

Is a DATEV integration included?

No. A DATEV integration is not part of the practical test or the basic configuration. It can only be offered separately after technical, contractual and data protection review.

Does local AI fit your workflow?

Tell us your industry, document types and the one workflow that currently costs the most time. We will assess the fit for free and, if suitable, demonstrate the approach with anonymised or approved sample documents before you decide on a paid practical test.
